Russia lacks capability to launch war against NATO today – expert
Head of Ukraine in NATO NGO Yuriy Romaniuk says Russia does not have the forces and means to launch an attack on any NATO country
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"As of today, Russia has no capabilities to attack any NATO country. Putin failed to help Syria, or rather the regime of Bashar al-Assad. Now Iran is asking for help and Russia has nothing to offer. Putin cannot give Tehran aircraft or even air defense systems. At the same time, there are only 1,000 F-35 aircraft in Europe today. There is information that the UK is ready to buy 138 of these fighters. Therefore, it is futile to hope that Russia can safely launch an offensive somewhere. In addition, I would like to know how Russia plans to overcome water obstacles in the event of an attack on NATO countries. Today, Russia does not know how to overcome water obstacles if bridges are blown up," Romaniuk said.
The expert noted that Russian forces cannot actively advance on land.
"The Russians have been 'taking' Toretsk and Chasiv Yar for a year now. There are no powerful water obstacles there. They cannot actively advance by land, so what kind of attacks on the Baltic states are we talking about?" he added.
