Russia is responsible for tragedy in Przewodów - Radosław Sikorski
On the air of the Spotlight Ukraine program, Radosław Sikorski, a member of the European Parliament and Poland's former Minister of Defense (2005-2007), talked about the missile accident in Przewodów, why NATO could not prevent the tragedy, and what consequences await Ukraine if it was a Ukrainian air defense missile
This is reported on the Spotlight Ukraine | Espreso TV Channel.
Despite the fact that radars on the border detected the missile, it was not possible to prevent the tragedy in Przewodów. Radosław Sikorski says that there is no country in the world that could fully protect its entire territory.
“I don't think there is a country in NATO or in the world that can protect its entire territory. Anti-aircraft and anti-missile defenses are an Achilles' heel in Poland actually. We are protecting the Rzeszów hub, where the majority of Western assistance for Ukraine is going through, but it's physically impossible to protect every farm and every village in any country,” he said.
A member of the European Parliament says that even if a Ukrainian air defense missile fell on the territory of Poland, it is Russia that is responsible for the tragedy.
“The responsible party for what happened in Poland is Russia. It's Russia that is trying to pound Ukraine into submission. It's Russia that is committing war crimes by hitting the civilian targets in Ukraine. It's Russia that is trying to cause a wave of refugees by denying Ukraine electricity and heat at the beginning of winter. We grieve for our citizens obviously, but we don't blame you,” Radosław Sikorski concluded.
