Russia is heading towards creating a "death zone" to inflict maximum damage on Ukraine - military expert Zgurets
Russia, through the sabotage of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, can create a completely uninhabitable area, intending to cause maximum damage to Ukraine for hundreds of years ahead.
Serhiy Zgurets, Defense Express chief said this on Espreso TV.
"We need to talk about the next threats from Russia regarding the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant. Essentially, Russia is heading towards creating a 'death zone.' After the sabotage of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, areas that are no longer fit for economic use were formed," he stated.
According to Zgurets, the damages that Ukraine will experience in the future are significant.
"Next, the games played by Russia with the nuclear power plant - no one can guarantee that there won't be controlled actions to blow up the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant in order to create a completely uninhabitable area that Russia wants to inflict maximum damage on Ukraine for hundreds of years ahead. This perfectly fits into the concept that the Russians can implement during their retreating campaigns. When our units are currently breaking through to Vasilyvka and beyond, it is closely related to how Russia will react. When Budanov talks about mining the cooling rooms and workshops of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, it perfectly fits into the concept of causing maximum damage to Ukraine. We need to be prepared for this and take preventive measures. It is difficult for me to say specifically what measures should be taken at this time. Both Ukraine and the world understand the risks of Russian actions in such areas as the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant and the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant," Zgurets concluded.
