"Unfortunately, Russians were able to increase the production of Kinzhal missiles. Based on the data voiced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Reznikov, as of the beginning of May this year, Russians had 80 missiles of this type. It follows that they were able to increase the production of these missiles from 1-2 units to 10 per month. However, fortunately for us, the limiting factor that restrains the more massive use of these missiles is the small number of carriers for Kinzhals in Russia," Kyrychevskyi explained.
The expert explained that the complex design of the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles does not allow launching from just any bomber.
"The fact is that the Kinzhal missile is designed in such a way that it can only be launched from a MiG-31K aircraft. Russians wanted to adapt these missiles to the Su-22M3 aircraft, but they failed. However, it is quite possible that they are preparing and repairing their existing MiG-31Ks in order to simultaneously launch several dozen Kinzhal missiles at the territory of Ukraine," he added.
On the night of May 16, Russia launched an attack of "exceptional density" on Kyiv, using drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles at the same time – the eighth one since the beginning of the month. Debris was recorded falling in Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Obolonskyi, and Darnytskyi districts.
