Russia focuses on offensive in Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, on three more - tries to improve tactical position

Ukrainian Armed Forces reports in the morning briefing on December 15.

In other directions, Russian forces try to restrain the actions of Ukrainian Defense Forces units.

On December 14, Russian troops carried out 31 air strikes and 8 missile strikes on civilian infrastructure in Donetsk region, and also carried out 61 attacks from multiple missile systems.

In the future, there is a threat that Russian occupying forces launch air and missile strikes on civilian infrastructure throughout Ukraine.

In the northwestern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the situation remains without significant changes, no signs of enemy offensive groups formation have been detected.

In the area of northeastern Ukrainian border with Russia, Russian troops shelled Lypivka and Khrinivka districts in Chernihiv region.

In Kupyansk direction, positions of Ukrainian troops were shelled in Chervona Zorya, Krasne, Staritsa, Dvorichna and Novomlynsk settlements in Kharkiv region.

In Lyman direction, Russian forces shelled with tanks, mortars, barrel and missile artillery Makiivka, Ploshanka and Chervonopivka settlements in Luhansk region and Yampolivka, Torske and Vedmezhe in Donetsk region.

Areas of seventeen settlements were shelled in Bakhmut direction. Among them are Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ozaryanivka, Pivnichne and Opytne in Donetsk region. Russian invading forces also carried out airstrike near Bakhmut.

In Avdiivka direction, positions of Ukrainian troops in Avdiivka, Vodyane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Marinka were shelled. There was Russian airstrike near the latter.

In Novopavlivsk direction, Russian occupying forces shelled Vuhledar, Prechistivka and Neskuchne in Donetsk region. They conducted an airstrike in Vuhledar.

In Kherson direction, Russian troops continue to shell positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure along the right bank of Dnipro river. In particular, Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk region were affected;  Novovorontsovka, Osokorivka, Novotyahinka, Tokarivka, Yantarne in Kherson region and Kherson city.

• Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff reported that Russian troops mined summer cottages and banks of Konka and Chaika rivers in the occupied territory of Kherson region. 

• Also, Russian invading forces carry out work on switching Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to Russian energy system. 

• Ukrainian defenders on December 14 successfully repelled Russian attacks in 6  settlements in Donetsk region. And Ukrainian aviation conducted 13 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment.
