Zaluzhnyi incites military to coup d'etat in Ukraine: Russia launches new fake

Russian propagandists have launched a new fake about Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi. The general is allegedly preparing a coup d'etat in Ukraine

The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security reported this.

Russian Telegram channels are spreading a video message from Zaluzhnyi, in which the general, after the news of his resignation, called on the Defense Forces to "make a demarche on Kyiv and seize power.”

In fact, the video fake was generated using artificial intelligence and was based on Zaluzhnyi's address on the occasion of the Day of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on December 6, 2023 - the original video changed the color scheme and blurred the background.

"Fake news makers also filled the video with a typical set of Kremlin narratives, such as: 'complete failure at the front', 'total corruption in Ukraine', 'Zelenskyy's terrorist acts', 'soldiers are being sent to slaughter'," the statement says.
