"The United States has allowed Ukraine to use HIMARS to strike Russia," Russian media are spreading this information, citing US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.
In fact, Brink did not make such a statement. This fake was created by journalists from Strana.ua, who later published a refutation.
"To create the fake, they used the ambassador's quote from June 2022, when the United States provided Ukraine with a military aid package that included ammunition for HIMARS: ‘This will help Ukrainian forces to aim more accurately but also have a longer range. The exact range will be determined by the Ukrainian forces,’" the Center for Strategic Information wrote.
On January 2, the French Foreign Ministry did not condemn the shelling of Russian Belgorod, which killed 25 people.
