"Ukrainian army shells civilians trying to leave Kherson": Russian fakes for May 10
Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations that Russian propaganda launched on May 10
Espreso TV reports.
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, on May 10, Russian propaganda launched fake news and disinformation.
Fake: The Russian Telegram channel SIGNAL wrote: "The Ukrainian Armed Forces open fire to kill civilians trying to leave Kherson and get to the left bank of the Dnipro River."
"The task of Russian propaganda is to demonize the Ukrainian Armed Forces as much as possible to cause public distrust of them and to create the impression that most residents of the city support Russia, despite the fact that Kherson has seen all the horrors of the "Russian world," the Center emphasizes.
Disinformation: Yuliya Zhdanova, a member of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, said: "The member states of the North Atlantic Alliance are deliberately leading to further escalation of the Ukrainian crisis towards an open military clash between NATO countries and Russia."
"The only country that is engaged in escalation is Russia, and its satellites are helping it in this. The propagandist also used the tactic of substitution of concepts, calling the war a "Ukrainian crisis" in an attempt to absolve Russia of responsibility for the outbreak of war in Ukraine," the Center for Countering Disinformation writes.
