“Ukraine is practicing carpet bombing": Russian fakes and manipulations for August 23
The Center for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes launched by Russian propagandists on August 23
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, on August 23, Russian propagandists launched two fakes.
Fake: Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova said: “The Kyiv regime's attempt to attack the Kursk nuclear power plant with a 'kamikaze' drone was an act of nuclear terrorism.”
Refutation: An absurd fake aimed at discrediting Ukraine in the international arena. Ukraine strictly complies with the requirements of the international nuclear safety regime. At the same time, it is the Russian Federation that uses nuclear blackmail to achieve its goals.
Fake: Z-military reporter Sokolova said: “Ukraine is bombing, it's carpet bombing, when there are no specific targets, they just cover a square and don't care who is there.”
Refutation: Another doomed attempt to impose the image of “Nazis” on the Ukrainian military. The Ukrainian military destroys only military targets. At the same time, it is the Russian terrorists who are chaotically shelling civilians, residential buildings, schools, hospitals, etc.

Earlier, Russian propagandists spread the fake that the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region shot two people who were evacuating across the river.
