Russian propaganda launches new disinfo campaign claiming Sumy is preparing to surrender
Russians are spreading a fake story about the surrender of the city of Sumy by local authorities as part of a disinformation campaign
The Center for Countering Disinformation reported the information.
Russia is distributing a video online in which an alleged local resident of Sumy talks about the "preparation of local authorities to surrender" the city. Supposedly, the removal of property and documents from administrative buildings is evidence of this.
"In reality, this is a lie being spread by Russian propagandists as part of an information campaign," the Center stated.
The report explains that this is a Russian information campaign aimed at inciting panic.
At the same time, according to the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, the Russian forces continue their attempts to create a buffer zone in the region, but the Armed Forces are holding their positions and are not allowing the invaders to achieve success in these directions.
- Earlier, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that scammers are posing as the TikTok HR department and offering fake online jobs.
