The Center for Countering Disinformation has debunked another Russian misinformation claim: Russian Telegram channels have been spreading false reports that Kyiv residents living near "decision-making centers" were advised to evacuate their homes

The Center for Countering Disinformation reported the information.

Russian Telegram channels have circulated a screenshot purportedly from a Kyiv neighborhood chat, claiming that the Pechersk District Administration is urging residents living near "decision-making centers" to evacuate their homes.

"Having verified the information with the Pechersk District Administration, the Center informs that the warning spread by Russia is a fake, which aims to cause panic and undermine the morale of Kyiv residents. The administration has not sent out any such messages," the statement said.

However, the Center emphasized that the risk of Russian attacks remains constant, and citizens are advised not to ignore air raid warnings and to stay in safe locations.

The screenshot features a text purportedly sent by the Pechersk District Administration to Kyiv residents, stating in Ukrainian: "Occupiers are planning to strike at decision-making centers. If you received this message, your house may be at risk. We urge all residents to evacuate the building by August 14. If you need assistance, please contact the Pechersk District Administration."

The message was shared by a Russian Telegram channel with the description: “In Ukrainian house chat rooms, residents are being urged to evacuate their homes near decision-making centers in Kyiv. But they were happy that the Ukrainian armed forces have been shelling Donbass for 10 years, burned 'kolorads'* in Odesa, terrorize and kill the local population of Russia!”

  • Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine said that Russian special services are spreading fakes about the situation in the Kursk region, falsely accusing the Ukrainian military of committing war crimes.
