Drones attack military airfield, two oil refineries in Krasnodar Krai, Russia

On the night of Saturday, April 27, Ukrainian drones attacked Russia's Krasnodar Krai. The attack targeted the Slavyansk ECO oil refinery near the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban, the Ilsky refinery, and the Kushchevsky military airfield

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine and hromadske, citing sources in the special service.

It is noted that last night, SBU drones, together with the Defense Forces of Ukraine, hit the Kushchevsky military airfield, as well as the territory of the Ilsky and Slavyansk refineries in the Krasnodar Krai of Russia.

According to the media source, the attacked airfield was home to dozens of military aircraft, a radar station and electronic warfare equipment. At the Ilsky and Slavyansk refineries, the drones targeted key technological facilities of the plants, such as rectification and atmospheric columns.

After the attacks, fires broke out at the airfield and refinery and personnel were evacuated.

The attack was first reported by the governor of the Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratyev. According to him, more than 10 drones were allegedly destroyed in the Slavyansky, Seversky and Kushchevsky districts.

“They tried to attack oil refineries and infrastructure facilities. According to reports from the ground, there are no casualties or serious damage. Emergency services are extinguishing the fire caused by the fall of the UAV,” the official wrote on Telegram.

According to Russian media, at least seven explosions were heard in the suburbs of Slavyansk-on-Kuban around 05:00, followed by a bright fire in the sky.

Later, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy confirmed that two refineries in Krasnodar Krai - Ilsky, Slavyansk-ECO, a bitumen plant, and a number of other facilities - were attacked last night.

As noted by the Russian media outlet ASTRA, the UAV attack on the Ilsky refinery in the region damaged the AT-1 unit, and aircraft were damaged at the military airfield in Kushchevskaya village. ASTRA also published a video from the airfield after the attack.

Later, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 66 attack drones were shot down by air defense last night over the territory of Krasnodar Krai, as well as two more over the temporarily occupied Crimea.
