Russia demonstrates presence near Ukraine's border by exercises in Belarus, while Ukrainian Armed Forces repel attacks near 14 towns and villages - General Staff

Yesterday, on January 18, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks near the settlements of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region and Terny, Verkhnekamianske, Soledar, Sil, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Klishchiyivka, Oleksandr-Shultine, Kurdyumivka, Vodiane, Marinka, Pobieda and Paraskoviyivka, Donetsk region.

AFU hit 3 control points and 18 Russian troop concentration areas

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation carried out 13 strikes on Russian concentration areas and 3 on the positions of the occupiers' anti-aircraft missile systems.

Also, an enemy Ka-52 helicopter and a Merlin-VR UAV were shot down.

Meanwhile, the missile troops and artillery divisions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 3 control points, 5 invaders' concentration areas, 1 ammunition depot and 2 other important enemy targets.

Russia fired 25 air strikes and launched more than 85 MLRS attacks on Ukraine

Over the past day, the Russian military conducted 25 air strikes and fired over 85 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

The threat of air and missile strikes by the Russian Federation against civilian objects remains high across Ukraine.

The situation remains stable in the area of the state border with Belarus and the Russian Federation. 

No enemy offensive groups were detected. Units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus continue to perform their tasks. Thus, the enemy demonstrates its presence near the state border. 

The enemy fired mortar and artillery shells near the settlement of Buchky in Chernihiv region, Popivka in Sumy region and 11 settlements in Kharkiv region.

Russian troops shell Ukraine from various types of weapons

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian military fired on the areas of 8 nin Kharkiv region, as well as Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy fired at the positions of the Defense Forces near Druzhelyubivka in Kharkiv region and Novoyehorivka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka and Dibrova in Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, 22 localities were shelled by enemy artillery. Among them are Verkhnekamianske, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Mayorsk, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Klishchiyivka, Kurdyumivka and Druzhba.

In the Avdiivka direction, 7 settlements in Donetsk region came under hostile fire.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Russian troops again fired at 3 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, 24 localities suffered from artillery fire, including Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk region and Poltavka, Malynivka, Hulyaypole, Shcherbaki, Stepove, Kamianske and Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the invaders do not stop terrorizing the civilian population. In particular, more than 20 settlements were shelled with multiple rocket launchers and cannon artillery. Civilians suffered.
