Russia damages, destroys 863 cultural heritage sites in Ukraine during full-scale war
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion and as of the end of November, the occupying Russian forces have damaged or destroyed 863 cultural heritage sites in Ukraine
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.
"In particular, the monuments of architecture include 276 objects of architecture and urban planning - 252, history - 200, architecture, history - 33, monumental art - 19, urban planning, monumental art - 17, archeology - 18, architecture and urban planning, history - 38, urban planning - 5, science and technology - 2, landscape art - 1, architecture and urban planning, monumental art - 1, architecture, monumental art - 1," the statement said.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, 23 monuments have been completely destroyed, 663 monuments have been partially damaged, and the extent of damage to 177 sites remains unknown.
Most of the monuments were destroyed or damaged in Kharkiv, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and the least in Zhytomyr region.
As a reminder, as of August, the Russian army had damaged or destroyed 823 sites of Ukraine's cultural heritage.
- In January, the historic center of Odesa was included in the UNESCO List of World Heritage in Danger.
