Russia could not wage war on Ukraine without China’s support — German FM
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said Russia's war against Ukraine would have been impossible without China's support for Moscow
Spiegel reported the information.
"Without it, a war of aggression against Ukraine would have been impossible," Wadephul said, referring to China.
The minister reminded that Beijing is the largest supplier of dual-use goods to Russia, which the country can use for both civilian and military needs. At the same time, China buys the largest amount of oil from Moscow.
At a joint press conference with the Japanese Foreign Minister, Wadephul also noted that China has repeatedly threatened to unilaterally change the status quo in the South China and East China Seas and in the Taiwan Strait, shifting borders in its favor.
"Any escalation would have serious consequences for global security and the world economy in this sensitive hub of international trade," said the German Foreign Minister.
