Russia continues rocket attack on Mykolaiv university, injures one person
On the night of August 18-19, Russian forces have struck Mykolaiv, again hitting the Peter Mohyla Black Sea National University
Head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration Vitaly Kim and the mayor of the city Oleksandr Senkevych on Telegram.
"On the night of August 19, around 04:00, the city was hit by S-300 rockets. Three enemy rockets again hit P. Mohyla University, damaged the surrounding houses. Previously, one person was injured," Kim wrote.
An enterprise was also damaged in another district of the city. According to preliminary information, there are no victims.
Before that, Senkovych wrote: "The Russians fired at our Mohylyanka again. Two more S-300 missiles."
Emergency crews and utility services were on the scene.
An air raid alert was announced in Mykolaiv and the region at 4:03, and the strike was reported at 4:44. Senkevych said at 4:06 that powerful explosions were heard.
Lines 101 and 112 are temporarily out of service in Mykolaiv.
According to the information of OC South, on August 18 in Mykolaiv, the objects of the port infrastructure were attacked again. There are no casualties.
Russian forces were also raided in the region on August 18 and 19.
"On the afternoon of August 18, at 12:55, enemy shelling was recorded in the village of Halytsynove. Several residential buildings were damaged, a fire department building was destroyed, and a fire truck was destroyed as a result of the impact of cluster munitions of the Smerch MLRS. Three people were injured," noted Kim.
Yesterday, August 18, at approximately 9:30 and 17:30, shelling occurred on the territory of the Shirokiv community. The community was also shelled from 22:00 on August 18 to 04:00 on August 19. The hits were outside the population centers. There are no casualties.
Settlements of the Berezneguvate community, located on the demarcation line, remain under constant fire. Information on victims and damage is being clarified.
