Russia continues offensive in 5 directions, Ukrainian Armed Forces repel attacks near 12 settlements - AFU General Staff

Russia continues to launch offensives in 5 directions 

The Russian army continues to launch offensive actions in Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Vuhledar directions, in particular near Kreminna, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Opytne, Marinka and Vuhledar.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russian forces are largely using tactical and army aviation to strike at Ukrainian positions.

"Over the last day, the enemy launched 52 air and 6 missile attacks, 2 of which targeted civilian infrastructure in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. The occupiers also fired 63 MLRS attacks, in particular at the civilian infrastructure of Donetsk and Kherson regions," the General Staff said.

Ukrainian defenders warn that the threat of missile and air strikes on Ukraine remains high. 

The Ukrainian Armed Forces repel attacks near 12 settlements, shoot down 3 UAVs, and Ukrainian aviation launches 18 strikes on Russian personnel and military equipment concentrations

Over the course of the day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks near 2 settlements in the Kharkiv region; 2 more in the Luhansk region; and 7 others in the Donetsk region.

Ukrainian aviation launched 18 strikes on Russian personnel and military equipment concentrations, as well as 4 strikes on air defense systems. 

At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down 3 Russian UAVs, 2 of the Orlan-10 type and 1 of the Orion type. Ukrainian missile troops and artillery struck 2 Russian control points, 5 manpower concentrations, an ammunition depot and a Russian air defense position. 

Russian forces continue filtration measures in the temporarily occupied Kherson region, Wagner mercenaries have been deployed to the Zaporizhzhia region

In the town of Hola Prystan, Kherson region, Russian FSB officers are inspecting the documents and personal belongings of local residents, paying special attention to phones.

"In order to replenish their losses, Russian occupiers deployed Wagner PMC mercenaries from among the recruited convicts to the village of Myrne, Zaporizhzhia region," the General Staff added.

Situation by directions:

On the northern and northeastern border with Belarus and Russia, experts found no changes and no signs of the formation of offensive groups.

Twenty-seven settlements came under Russian fire in Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions. 

In Kupiansk and Lyman directions, 4 settlements in the Kharkiv region, 4 more settlements and Serebrianske forestry in the Luhansk region and another settlement in the Donetsk region came under attack.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops shelled 15 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In Avdiivka and Vuhledar directions, 13 settlements in the Donetsk region came under tank, mortar and artillery fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, 2 settlements in the Donetsk region and 12 in the Zaporizhzhia region came under fire.

In the Kherson direction, Russian troops shelled 22 settlements.
