Russia claims to down 121 drones as fire erupts at Saratov oil refinery
In the early hours of Sunday, August 10, Russian authorities reported a drone attack on several regions, including the city of Saratov, where a fire broke out near an oil refinery
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported this.
According to them, during the night of August 9–10, air defense systems allegedly destroyed 29 drones over Krasnodar Territory, 15 over occupied Crimea, 13 over Bryansk region, 12 over Belgorod region, 9 over Voronezh region, and 8 each over Saratov region and Stavropol Territory.
They also claimed to have shot down 7 drones over Kaluga region, 6 over Tula region, 5 over Rostov region, 4 over Ryazan region, 2 over the Sea of Azov, and one each over Smolensk, Oryol, and Tver regions.
At the same time, Saratov region governor Roman Busargin said one drone fell in the courtyard of a residential building, killing one person. There are also injured.
Russian Telegram channels report the local Saratov oil refinery was targeted.
In addition, Astra writes that during the drone attack, the local airport had to suspend operations for a time.
