RIA Novosti added that Pozdnyakov called the IOC's recommendations a “violation of human rights” and “discrimination.”
Elena Vyalbe, head of the Russian Cross-Country Ski Federation, told RIA Novosti: “I am categorically against neutral status, especially with a lot of additions: “who does not support the special military operation,” “who is not in the security and military structures” and “who did not participate in the Z concerts”... My opinion is that we do not need their international competitions under such conditions!”
Skier Veronika Stepanova wrote on Telegram: “Would you please go to hell with all your conditions and recommendations, dear IOC? I will not allow any 'international commission' to analyze my views and beliefs and decide whether to allow me to participate in the World Cup. In that case, run yourself.”
At the meeting of the IOC Executive Committee, the committee did not decide on the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to the Olympics, but recommended that the federations allow them to participate in the competition under certain conditions.
