Russia attacks Ukraine with several waves of strike drones: 17 "Shaheds" destroyed
On the night of September 20, Ukraine's air defense forces have shot down 17 Shahed-type UAVs out of 24 launched by the Russian army against Ukraine
Air alert was announced in the northern, eastern, and southern regions of Ukraine and in the capital Kyiv.
Ukraine’s Air Force informs that several groups of attack drones were launched from the southeast and north. As a result, 17 “Shaheds” were destroyed by air defense along the route within Sumy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, and Dnipro regions.
“Unfortunately, there have been several hits to the oil refinery in Poltava region, which has temporarily shut down the plant. The relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences,” the Air Force posted on Telegram.
Local authorities report that the drone hit an oil refinery in Kremenchuk.
"There was a fire. All emergency services are working at the scene. The plant's operation has been temporarily suspended. As of now, we know that there are no casualties," summarized Dmytro Lunin, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.
