Russia attacks Odesa region: Ukraine’s air defense shoots down 14 drones

The Russian army attacked the city of Odesa and Odesa district with 17 Iranian-made drones, the Ukrainian air defense shot down 14 of them. However, the enterprise was hit, and a fire broke out.

On the night of April 4, the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 14 Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack drones, which the Russian occupiers used to attack Ukraine from the south.

"In total, up to 17 launches of attack UAVs were recorded, presumably from the area of the eastern coast of the Azov Sea. The air defense forces of the South Air Command destroyed 14 Shahed drones," the statement said.

According to Vladyslav Nazarov, a spokesman for the South Air Command, 13 drones were destroyed in the sky of Odesa region, and 1 - over Mykolaiv region.

However, one of the enterprises in Odesa region was hit, which caused a fire. Preliminarily, there were no casualties.

The spokesperson for the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, urged residents of the region not to ignore the alarm and stay in shelters.

Later, the Odesa Regional Military Administration reported the details of the shelling on Telegram.

"The enemy attacked Odesa and Odesa region with attack UAVs. The air defense units have shot them down," wrote Yuriy Kruk, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

The Administration reminded residents of Odesa district not to ignore air raid alerts and stay in shelters. It was also emphasized that in wartime, not all events can be commented on or publicized until official information is available.
