Russia actively uses aviation to support offensive in two directions

Russian occupying forces continue their armed aggression against Ukraine, they do not stop striking civilian infrastructure. They are trying to hold temporarily captured territories, concentrating their efforts on restraining AFU units, equipping defensive lines and positions in the temporarily captured and occupied territories of Ukraine.

In Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, Russian forces continue to attack, actively using aviation to support actions of its ground groups.

Also, Russian troops do not stop shelling settlements and positions of Ukrainian units along the contact line, conducting aerial reconnaissance. It continues to strike critical infrastructure and civilian homes in violation of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war.

In Volyn and Polissya direction, situation remains without significant changes, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected.

Republic of Belarus continues to support armed aggression of Russian Federation against Ukraine, providing territory and airspace for launching missile and air strikes.

In Siverskyi direction, Russian shelled by mortars and barrel artillery Senkivka, Sosnivka in Chernihiv region and Homelivske, Manukhivka, Oleksandrivka, Slavhorod in Sumy region.

In Slobozhanshchyna direction, Russian forces continue to keep their troops in the border areas of Belgorod region. Volokhivka, Vilkhuvatka, Dvorichna, Krasne, Ohirtseve, Staritsa, Strilecha, Ternova in Kharkiv region were shelled by tanks, mortars, and barrel artillery.

Russian troops are on defensive in Kupyansk and Lyman directions. Shelled from tanks, mortars and barrel artillery in the districts of Berestove, Kislivka, Kotlyarivka, Tabaivka, Pischane, Krokhmalne settlements in Kharkiv region;  Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region and Makiivka, Nevske, Terny in Donetsk region. Russian military used army aircraft for strikes in Kotlyarivka settlement.

In Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, Russian forces concentrate main efforts on conducting offensive actions, trying to improve their tactical position. 20 settlements, including Bilohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Druzhba, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region, were shelled by tanks and entire range of artillery. Russian soldiers struck by combat aircraft in Spirne, Kamianka, and Maryinka.

Russian military is on defensive in Novopavlivsk direction. Shelled by different types of artillery are Bohoyavlenka, Vuhledar and Prechystivka settlements in Donetsk region.

Russian troops conduct defensive operations in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. They shelled by tanks and artillery more than 16 settlements bordering contact line, in particular the settlements of Vremivka, Novopil in Donetsk region, Olhivske, Dorozhnyanka, Zaliznychne, Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region; as well as Zolota Balka, Novosilka in Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

On December 5, units of Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled Russian attacks in Verkhnyokamianske, Bakhmut, Andriyivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Kurdyumivka, Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region.
