On the night of September 13, Russia alleged that Ukraine conducted a significant missile attack on a ship repair facility in Sevastopol, damaging two Russian ships.

This is reported by Espreso, citing the pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Crimean Wind.

Around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, witnesses reported at least seven explosions in Sevastopol. Smoke quickly engulfed the city, which is currently under Russian occupation.

Local residents captured the explosions on video. Crimean Wind mentioned the presence of activity in the Southern Bay, where Russian fleet ships and submarines are often located. The National Resistance Center confirmed reports of an attack in the Southern Bay area.

Sevastopol's local leader, Mikhail Razvozhaev, accused Ukraine of launching a missile attack on the Russian-occupied city and reported a fire at the Sevastopol shipyard. He claimed that 24 people were injured in the incident.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Sevastopol had been attacked with ten cruise missiles.

"Tonight, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched an attack on the Ordzhonikidze ship repair facility in Sevastopol using ten cruise missiles and three unmanned boats, targeting a group of Black Sea Fleet ships at sea," reported the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The Russians claimed to have intercepted seven out of the ten missiles and destroyed all the surface drones. However, they admitted that two ships, supposedly undergoing repairs, sustained damage as a result of the missile strikes.

Later, Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, informed Ukrainian media that a large Russian landing ship in Sevastopol had been hit during the nighttime attack. Additionally, a Russian submarine was damaged.

"There is damage to the Ordzhonikidze ship repair facility in Sevastopol, particularly to its equipment. Regarding watercraft, we can confirm damage to a large amphibious ship and a submarine," stated the GUR representative.

Mykola Oleschuk, Commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, commented on the attack on Sevastopol via social media. He suggested that the nighttime attack on the city might have involved aviation.

"While the occupiers are dealing with the aftermath of the night explosions in Sevastopol, I express my gratitude to the pilots of the Ukrainian Air Force for their outstanding combat performance! To be continued..." he wrote.

Petro Poroshenko wrote on Telegram that it was a boomerang for the occupation authorities' crimes in Crimea.

"Stolen things do not bring success. And one must always be held accountable for crimes. Today, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit Russian warships on the territory of the dockyard in Sevastopol, which was stolen by the occupation authorities of the Russian Federation in February-March 2014, renamed in the Soviet way - Sevmorzavod Ordzhonikidze and repurposed for the production of Russian weapons," Petro Poroshenko reminded.

"That is why we can't help but be pleased with the missile boomerang of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the plant and the fact that at least one ship will not launch ballistic missiles at us. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Armed Forces!" the fifth President of Ukraine wrote.
