Russia accelerates occupied territories’ forced integration, while Ukrainian Armed Forces strike 24 times at enemy’s concentration areas — General Staff of the AFU

In Horlivka, Donetsk region, occupying forces shortened the term for issuing Russian passports and driver's licenses. In turn, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to destroy the Russian army.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on January 5.

"The forced integration of the occupied territories into the legal framework of Russia continues," the General Staff informed. 

Thus, in the city of Horlivka, Donetsk region, the term for Russian passport issuance has been reduced from 30 to 10 days. Also, the region is issuing license plates and driver's licenses for the Russian Federation standart.

Ukrainian troops struck 24 times at Russia’s concentration areas and destroyed a helicopter and an aircraft

Over the past day, the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the Russian attacks near two settlements in the Luhansk region and fourteen in the Donetsk region.

On January 4, the aviation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted 20 strikes on Russia’s concentration areas and 5 strikes on their anti-aircraft missile systems’ positions.

Over the previous day, in the east, Ukrainian Air Defense Forces’ units destroyed a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft, a Ka-52 attack helicopter and an Orlan-10 tactical UAV.

In turn, soldiers of the missile troops and artillery carried out fire damage to 3 control points, 4 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment and 2 Russian ammunition depots.

Russia launched 3 missile and 13 air strikes on Ukraine, particularly on civilian infrastructure

On January 4, Russian forces conducted 3 missile and 13 air strikes and 68 attacks from multiple missile launchers, particularly, on the civilian infrastructure of three settlements in the Donetsk region, one in the Dnipropetrovsk region and Kherson city. 

There are injured, seriously injured and dead among civilians.

The danger of Russian air and missile strikes remains on the whole territory of Ukraine.

Russian troops in the Vuhledar, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions are conducting defense and shelling. In the Bakhmut direction, they are focused on the offensive.

Russian forces continue to focus their efforts on conducting an offensive in the Bakhmut direction. There was no success in the Avdiivka and Kupiansk sectors after the offensive.

In the Vuhledar, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, they continue to conduct active defense, shelling the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian objects along the contact line.

The invading troops do not stop shelling Ukrainian towns and villages in different directions, using various types of weapons

In the northern Ukrainian border with Russia and the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive group formation were detected.

One settlement in the Chernihiv region, three in the Sumy region and seven in the Kharkiv region were shelled with tanks, mortars and artillery.

In the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, areas of 20 settlements came under fire. Among them are seven in the Kharkiv region and three in the Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, areas of more than 40 settlements were shelled. Particularly, there are ten in the Donetsk region.

In the Vuhledar direction of the Donetsk region, a Russian fire was registered near four settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 45 localities came under fire. The civilian infrastructure of four settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region and four in the Kherson region suffered from tank, mortar and artillery shelling.
