Romanian F-16s intercept two Russian fighter jets while on duty in Baltic States
On April 7, as part of a NATO mission, Romanian F-16 fighter jets have identified and intercepted two Russian Su-27s in the airspace of the Baltic States

This was reported by the Romanian Air Force Command.
"On April 7, 2023, just six days after the start of NATO's enhanced air policing mission in the Baltic States, the NATO Air Operations Center in Uedem, Germany, raised an alarm with 2 F-16 fighter jets from the Carpathian Vipers Air Force detachment," the press service said.
Later it turned out that two Russian Su-27 fighter jets had been intercepted.
"They were safely escorted out of the Alliance's area of responsibility," the command said.

Earlier, a British Air Force Typhoon and a German fighter jet intercepted Russian aircraft twice while patrolling Estonian airspace.
