Rheinmetall unveils what armoured vehicles to be produced in Ukraine
German Rheinmetall will produce tanks and infantry fighting vehicles at a joint venture with Ukraine. In addition, the plant will carry out maintenance and repair of existing armoured vehicles

"We will start (at the joint venture with Ukraine - ed.) with the maintenance and repair of existing vehicles, and we also want to start production of armoured vehicles, such as Fuchs armoured transport vehicles, as soon as possible," Rheinmetall boss Armin Papperger said.
He added that Ukraine is interested in the modern Panther main battle tank and Lynx infantry fighting vehicle. However, Papperger said, the first step will be to cover the country's urgent defence needs.

On May 17, media reported that the state-owned Ukroboronprom arms manufacturer and the German company Rheinmetall signed a strategic partnership agreement to strengthen Ukrainian industry and security.
