Rheinmetall plans to send 25 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine
The order was confirmed by German company Rheinmetall following a request from the German government, with delivery set for 2024

Ukraine is set to receive 25 Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks, along with five armored repair and evacuation vehicles (BPz 2) and two armored vehicles for a military driving school to train its Armed Forces.
According to a statement, the order is valued in the double-digit millions of euros and covers training, logistics, spare parts, maintenance, and additional support services.
The German government will finance the contract, with the equipment expected to be delivered in 2024.
Before shipment to Ukraine, Rheinmetall plants in Unterluss and Kassel will undergo the necessary work to prepare the tanks for operation.
- Previously, Rheinmetall received an order from the German government for over 150,000 artillery shells destined for Ukraine.
