Retreat of Russian occupiers across Dnipro river in Kherson region may mean their transfer to other directions - military expert
Denys Popovych, a Ukrainian military expert, believes that a partial retreat of the Russian enemy is already taking place at night, which explains the shelling of the Antonivsky bridge
He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.
"In my opinion, the Russian forces are now trying to ensure their withdrawal from the right bank of the Dnipro River, provided that such a decision is made. Therefore, precisely because of this, the enemy can strengthen their positions in order to deprive Ukrainian troops of the opportunity to actively prevent their withdrawal. And the withdrawal is already there and takes place at night, this explains our shelling of the Antonivsky bridge. The Russians are trying to ensure their evacuation, which is being carried out one way or another," the military expert explained.
Denys Popovych noted that there is still a big question as to whether such an evacuation will lead to the withdrawal of all Russian troops across the Dnipro. It is known that on the right bank the enemy has quite strong and combat-ready troops, which were transferred there in the summer by Putin’s order. In addition, the Russians are also sending mobilized people in that direction.
"However, if Russian troops withdraw to the left bank of Dnipro, it can be predicted that they will be transferred to the Zaporizhzhia region in order to prevent our advance towards Melitopol, Berdyansk, Mariupol. Or this transfer may be to the Donetsk region in order to capture the remaining territory of the region and try to take Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk. It is also necessary not to rule out that the enemy may turn to the north, because the Russian forces are bringing their mobilized troops to Belarus in order to form a so-called regular group together with the Belarusian troops," Popovych commented.
