Reshuffle of Bakanov, Venediktova does not mean their dismissal - President's Office

The Ukrainian President's Office has announced that Security Service head Ivan Bakanov and Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova were moved from their duties, not dismissed

Interfax-Ukraine shared the news.

According to the Deputy Head of the President's Office Andriy Smirnov, Ivan Bakanov and Iryna Venediktova weren't dismissed yet.

"Currently, there is no question of the dismissal of these two officials. It is about the fact that the Prosecutor General has been removed from his position, and the head of the Security Service has been temporarily removed from his duties," said Smirnov.

He added that this was done in order to prevent the potential influence of these two officials on criminal proceedings, which are investigating representatives of the Security Service, who are suspected of collaborating with the aggressor country.

According to Smirnov, based on the results of the inspections, the decision on dismissal may not be made.
