Red Cross premises, center for children with disabilities hit by Russian attack, 7 wounded in strikes on Kherson civilian infrastructure
Russian troops shelled the premises of the Ukrainian Red Cross in Kherson on January 15
This was reported by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko.
According to him, the shelling caused a serious fire. Rescuers are working at the scene. There is no information about the victims yet.
"The enemy knew where to strike. During the shelling of the same building in mid-December, a volunteer and a member of the Red Cross rapid response team Victoria Yaryshko was killed," noted Tymoshenko.
Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration Yaroslav Yanushevych confirmed the attack on the Red Cross center and noted that the center for rehabilitation of children with disabilities was also hit.
In particular, he added that the shells fell near the student dormitory. A critical infrastructure facility was also attacked, the building of the enterprise and the adjacent territory were destroyed.
"As of this hour we know about 7 wounded due to Russian shelling of Kherson, one of them is in serious condition. All the injured are hospitalized in medical institutions where doctors provide them with necessary assistance," he noted.
