Office of Register of Damage Caused by Russian Aggression against Ukraine opened in Kyiv

The Office of the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine has been opened in Kyiv. The first applications will be accepted for destroyed housing

Espreso correspondent Dmytro Didora reported this.

The Office expects up to 600,000 applications in the first wave, and the total number of applications may reach 8 million. They can be submitted not only by citizens but also by businesses and government agencies.

"It should be remembered that the register of losses is only the first step. We continue to actively work on creating a compensation mechanism that will review applications registered in the Register and make decisions on awarding compensation. And we are, of course, working to ensure that these decisions can be enforced and that people, companies and the state receive real, effective and fair compensation," said Markiyan Kliuchkovskyi, Executive Director of the Register of Damage Caused by the Russian Aggression.

"In addition, we will support potential applicants, informing them of the steps they need to take in order to apply. We will conduct information campaigns so that Ukrainian citizens know and have every opportunity to apply for the relevant programs to meet their interests," said Marija Pejčinović Burić, Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
