Bridge destroyed by Russia to be rebuilt near Chernihiv using unique technology

The bridge over the Desna River near Chernihiv, to replace the one destroyed by Russia in March 2022, will be built using unique technologies

Ukraine's Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development reported this.

"The structure will have the longest continuous monolithic span made of post-tensioned concrete. In practice, this means that the technologies used during construction take into account modern load standards and make the new bridge extremely resistant to cracks," the statement says.

The rebuilt facility near Chernihiv will become the longest bridge across the Desna River. Its length is 628 meters. The bridge will have 4 traffic lanes, traffic interchanges, an underground pedestrian crossing, sidewalk and pedestrian zones, bicycle lanes, and passages for people with limited mobility.

• On January 18, the bridge over the Inhulets River, which was destroyed by the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, was rebuilt and opened in the Mykolaiv region.
