Putin’s key propagandist faces criminal charges in Ukraine for promoting war and genocide
The Security Service of Ukraine has officially served a notice of suspicion in absentia to Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov. He is specifically accused of justifying Russian war crimes and inciting genocide against Ukrainians
The press center of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) reported the information.
Vladimir Solovyov is a key figure in the media pool of Russian leader Vladimir Putin and serves as one of the Kremlin’s primary propagandists.
The SBU has documented multiple instances where Solovyov advocated for a tactical nuclear strike on Ukraine. Additionally, in recent speeches on Kremlin-controlled television, he has called for the full occupation of four regions in Ukraine’s south and east.
He frequently reiterates these statements on his programs aired on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a radio show of the same name in Moscow, and his Telegram channel.
Furthermore, throughout 2024 and 2025, Solovyov repeatedly called for the destruction of civilian infrastructure and the targeting of Ukrainian cities and residents across various regions, particularly through Russian airstrikes.
In response, SBU investigators have officially served Solovyov a notice of suspicion under five articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine
- Genocide
- Justification, recognition as lawful, denial of Russian armed aggression against Ukraine, and glorification of its participants
- Actions aimed at the violent overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power
- Propaganda of war
As the suspect remains in hiding in Russia, comprehensive measures are underway to ensure he is brought to justice.
