“Putin will lose this war on the battlefield” - German Economy Minister Habeck
German Economy Minister Robert Habeck says Russia, led by President Vladimir Putin, is headed for defeat in a full-scale invasion of Ukraine
Robert Habeck stated this in an interview with Spiegel.
“No one could have thought that 2022 would end like this. Putin will lose this war on the battlefield,” he said.
The minister noted that Russia is approaching defeat for several reasons: firstly, the Ukrainian army receives weapons from Europe, America, and NATO countries; secondly, Ukraine's Armed Forces use them strategically and wisely at the front.
“I am in favor of Germany, together with its allies, supporting Ukraine in such a way that it can win this war,” added Robert Habeck.
He emphasized: “We have come a long way, and the next steps will certainly allow Ukraine to achieve further success.” In particular, it is said that the state will always receive new weapons systems and additional assistance, but this must be agreed with the Alliance.
