"Putin will lose. Europe will prevail": Ursula von der Leyen describes how EU will overcome energy crisis

She wrote about it on Twitter.

"Putin is using energy as a weapon by cutting supply and manipulating our energy markets. He will fail. Europe will prevail." said the head of the European Commission.

She also reminded that the EU executive body is preparing proposals to help households and businesses cope with high energy prices.

According to her, these proposals will include:

• reduction of electricity consumption;

• establishing a ceiling price for Russian pipeline gas;

• assistance to vulnerable consumers and enterprises at the expense of energy sector revenues;

•  support for power producers who have liquidity problems due to market volatility.
