Putin is ready to meet anyone to demonstrate that some are still willing to meet him - political scientist
Viktor Shlinchak, head of the board of the Institute of World Politics, believes that it is now very important for the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to get out of the complete isolation he has forced himself into
He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.
“It is important for Russia to get out of the regime it has forced itself into, that is, the regime of complete isolation. Look what country leaders Putin calls or meets with. These are leaders who were previously considered to be either proxy countries for certain large countries, or they are generally insignificant countries that have never had an impact on world politics and world schedules,” Viktor Shlinchak said.
The head of the board of the Institute of World Politics noted that Russian lesder Vladimir Putin is trying to legitimize himself, so if he is not invited to the G20 summit, he will present it to the Russians as his decision not to go.
“Now Putin is ready to meet anyone to demonstrate that some leaders still meet with him. Accordingly, if this trip to the G20 summit takes place, it will legitimize Putin. And I think that a lot of smart people in the world who determine world politics understand this. And for some reason I hope that Putin will be denied the invitation. Accordingly, perhaps knowing this, Putin is already preparing his internal audience that he was not snubbed, but decided not to go there,” he added.
