Putin bets on NATO’s and G7’s collapse after his invasion of Ukraine - Biden
US President Joe Biden says that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin hoped that after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, NATO and the G7 would collapse
This was reported by Reuters.
Joe Biden made the statement on June 26, during a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the sidelines of the G7 summit.
"From the beginning Putin was claiming that NATO and the G7 will somehow fall apart, but that has not happened and will not happen," Biden said.
G7 leaders - the United States, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan - will meet in the Bavarian Alps. They will also be joined by the leaders of Argentina, India, Indonesia, Senegal and South Africa.
The summit will feature seven working sessions to discuss the global economy, partnerships for developing countries, foreign and security policies, sustainable development, food security, multilateralism and digital technologies.
On one of the meetings, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will join the leaders remotely.
