Putin approves transfer of Baltika, Danone to Russia's temporary management
Russian leader Vladimir Putin has signed a decree transferring the stakes of foreign shareholders in the Baltika brewery and Danone to the Federal Agency for State Property Management
Meduza writes about this.
The document was signed on July 16 and published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
With this decree, Putin effectively allowed the nationalization of the Danish company Carlsberg's shares in Baltika and the French company Danone's shares in the food concern of the same name.
The publication adds that the decree allowing the Russian authorities to take over the assets of foreign companies in Russia for "temporary management" was signed by Putin on April 25, 2023. The first to use this scheme were the Russian assets of the Finnish concern Fortum, which was the largest foreign investor in the electricity market.
