Prykarpattian local returns from Spain to defend Ukraine

The 68th Hunting Brigade commander, call sign Hutsul, has lived in Spain for 12 years, during which time he had returned twice to defend Ukraine

This is reported on the Facebook page of the 68 Detached Hunting Brigade, Espreso.West reports.

It is known that the soldier comes from the Kosiv area in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. He has already lived in Spain for 12 years, where he had two children - a boy and a girl. Hutsul decided to return to the Motherland for the first time when the Maidan began.

"When the Maidan started in Ukraine, I returned home. People wished to elect me as the head of the village. I led the village for 4 years, and then I went to Spain again", he said.

He returned to defend Ukraine for the second time in 2022, after a full-scale invasion by Russian troops. Here, Hutsul needed both the experience of a leader and the experience of previous service in the border troops.

"Soldiers from the Poltava region, Luhansk, and all over Ukraine serve with me. The guys are very united, they carry out their command, and everyone knows their own thing. I am with them in the trenches and in any situation. Unity is our strength! No matter what region you're from, if you're here at the front right now, it means you really love your country", the soldier added.

For reference. The 68th Detached Hunting Brigade belongs to the Reserve Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The reserve corps is a military unit within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which consists of personnel units and is a strategic reserve of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
