Prigozhin claims Ukrainian commander Tantsiura killed, Ukraine denies it
The Armed Forces of Ukraine deny Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin’s claims about the alleged death of the commander of Ukraine’s Territorial Defense Forces Ihor Tantsiura near Bakhmut
This was announced by the spokesman for the Command of the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine Denys Zelinskyi, according to Suspilne.
"We officially deny this statement. We do not comment on any enemy propaganda. Everyone is alive and well," he said.
Earlier, the head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin said that the car which Tantsiura was "probably" driving was destroyed near Bakhmut.
"Today, the artillery units of Wagner PMC destroyed an armored vehicle, which was probably transporting the commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ihor Tantsiura, when the reserves were approaching from the town of Chasiv Yar to the city of Bakhmut," Prigozhin said in a statement.
Later, Prigozhin also refuted reports of Igor Tantsiura's murder.
