'Pressure on mass media, chemical attack, and refugees from Ukraine': Russian disinfo review

The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security Council has published a new selection of fake stories Russian propaganda spread in the past day.

The Center shared the review in its Telegram channel.

For example, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov, said that "the West is doing everything to stop the work of the mass media that provide objective information about what is happening [in Ukraine]", however, the Center warns that this information does not correspond to reality and is a manipulation, because the EU countries stop the activity of only those propagandist mass media financed by the Russian Federation.

Also, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that "the Ukrainian military placed and replaced containers with liquid chlorine at the pumping and filtration station of the Slovyansk TPP. They plan to detonate them when the Russian Armed Forces approach the facility in order to further accuse the Russian army in front of the world community." The Center emphasizes that this is disinformation.

Also, the Russian mass media manipulates the topic of refugees from Ukraine, the Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized. Thus, the mass media of the Russian Federation reported: "in Europe, the funds for the maintenance of refugees from Ukraine are running out... In Latvia, they are being evicted from hotels, in Germany they are cutting aid, in Poland they are not paying compensation... In the EU, they are talking about Ukrainian refugees, that they are arrogant, do not work and are always dissatisfied with everything." This is also outright manipulation.
