'Preparing for the worst case scenario.' Kyiv defense doesn't rule out a second Russian attack on city
Kyiv Military Administration Chief of Staff Sergiy Korniychuk said that a Kyiv defense plan was developed for use in the event of a repeat Russian offensive.
He said this during 'United News' live national telethon.
"Today there is no direct threat to Kyiv. But given that the capital is a major political and economic center, Kyiv will always be one of the main strategic Russian objectives. We are preparing for the worst case scenario - a repeat attack," said Korniychuk.
The Chief of Staff said that the Kyiv defense plan was developed in case of repeated Russian attack considering shortcomings and failures during the invasion.
"Both military and civilian tasks are set to prepare for defense. This plan provides the forms and methods of military operations, as well as infrastructure preparation. It includes fortification equipment of borders and positions, starting from long approaches to quarters in the city center," Korniychuk noted.
