Powerful three-meter missile damages 26 sites in Zolochiv community - district council head

Orest Kavetsky, Zolochiv district council head, said that on June 14, a modern model missile three meters in length weighing about a ton hit the city, causing damage

He shared the update with Espreso.

"This is not the first time for Zolochiv district, such uninvited guests have arrived for the third time. And the last arrival in Zolochiv caused a lot of trouble. Up to 26 sites were damaged, and our brickyard suffered the most damage. As for the victims, six people were slightly injured because their homes were closest to the explosion, these are the people who came to us from Kharkiv region. We provided first aid and by dinnertime they were back home," said the head.

Orest Kavetsky said that claims for damages were still being collected and that acts of destruction would be drawn up on the ground in order to make every effort to repair the damage in the near future.

"Not only private houses were damaged, but also Zolochiv Castle was slightly damaged, two windows were broken. Up to 35 windows were also knocked down in the college. There was a very powerful wave from the missile strike, because the missile was a modern model and was up to three meters in size and weighed about a ton, respectively, had a huge blast wave. Thanks to our Zolochiv Castle, the administration district, which was not damaged half a kilometer from the epicenter of the explosion, the mountain near the castle stopped the blast wave," Kavetsky explained.

There were no casualties in the city, because people do not ignore sirens and are disciplined in instructing how to behave during alarms. Although many people worked at the brickyard, everyone went to the shelter during the siren.
