Possible use of chemical weapons in Mariupol is Putin's powerlessness before the heroic Ukrainian army - Taran

Political scientist, deputy of the Kyiv City Council Sergiy Taran believes that the possible use of chemical weapons in Mariupol is a manifestation of the powerlessness of the President of the aggressor country of Russia, Vladimir Putin, before the heroic Ukrainian army

The politician spoke about this in the program "Verdict with Sergiy Rudenko" on Espreso.TV.

If the use of chemical weapons in Mariupol is confirmed, this will mean even more isolation of Russia and even more help to Ukraine. Chemical weapons are generally taboo. If someone in the world uses chemical weapons, then he ends up with those politicians with whom no one greets or speaks. And Putin can get into this list, and we see that this can happen precisely in Ukraine, in Europe. This will be the second shock that this is not just a chemical weapon used, but it is used in Europe. For the Western world, this means that nothing can be negotiated with Putin at all", Taran said.

The political scientist added that there are no such politicians in the West now who would say that it is necessary to negotiate with Putin.

"Now the West is divided only on the question of how radical sanctions against the Russian Federation should be. If the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine is confirmed, then there will no longer be a politician in the West who will say that weak sanctions are enough. If this information is confirmed, Putin and Russia will be dealt a very serious blow. Of course, this will be a terrible crime, but it is worth saying frankly - Putin is doing this out of powerlessness, because there is no other way to fight the heroic Ukrainian army. And when the aggressor cannot do anything to the army of Ukraine, he  resorts to completely forbidden weapons", Sergiy Taran noted.
