The text of Duda's New Year's address is available on his official website.

"We live in dangerous times. There is a full-scale war on our eastern border. This has not happened in Europe since the Second World War. The brutal Russian aggression against independent and democratic Ukraine has brought death, pain and suffering. This is a war with no end in sight," said the Polish president.

"We in Poland, like no one else in the world, see with our own eyes every day the enormity of human tragedies, we meet mothers and children who seek refuge with us, escaping from the horrors of war. They are our guests," Duda added.

The leader of Poland blames the current leadership of Russia for what is currently happening to Ukraine and Ukrainians.

Poland also suffers from its actions, Andrzej Duda emphasized.

"The consequences of this barbaric aggression also affect our country, Poland. The energy crisis, rising prices, slowing down of the economy, uncertainty about the future. We must say frankly: the imperial policy of Putin's Russia is to blame for it all!" said Duda.

In his opinion, "the consequences of this war will not suddenly disappear next year."

"We will have to deal with them (with the consequences - ed.)," the Polish president emphasized.

"But despite this uncertainty, despite these numerous challenges and problems, as Poles, we opened our hearts and homes to our neighbors in need. We did not allow ourselves to be divided, we did not succumb to Russian propaganda and disinformation. This is the phenomenon the whole world discusses, this is an attitude we can be proud of. We all brilliantly passed the exam on humanity, solidarity and patriotism in 2022," said Duda.
