Polish Knight of Freedom Award is presented to people of Ukraine
During the Warsaw Security Forum, the Polish Knight of Freedom Award was bestowed on the people of Ukraine for their resistance to Russian aggression
The President of Ukraine's official website confirmed the news.
The award is presented by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation for popularizing the values of General Pulaski: freedom, justice and democracy. This year, the Foundation decided to recognise the people of Ukraine for their months-long struggle against Russian aggression.
Ukraine's first lady Olena Zelenska received the award on behalf of her country's people.
"There is a well-known Polish motto: 'For our freedom and yours'. Thank you for being with us. We know that you will be with us until the end. To our victory and yours," Zelenska said in her thank you speech at the ceremony.
The Warsaw Security Forum is an annual international conference for the exchange of views between representatives of governments and international institutions in the field of politics and defense. This year, the forum noted that it is "an opportunity for constructive conclusions and analysis of more than 200 days of Russian aggression against Ukraine."
