Police found almost 30,000 people considered missing since full-scale war beginning

This was reported by the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Alyona Matvieieva, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"Since February 24, there have been about 48,000 reports of people who have gone missing. In total, almost 30,000 people have been found according to these reports. However, it is worth noting that these are reports that were submitted to the National Police, as people could turn to other law enforcement agencies as well," Matvieieva said.

She noted that the police starts searching after receiving a statement about a missing person.

"Information is entered into the Unified Register of pretrial investigations and law enforcement officers begin to collect as much data about the person as possible: where the person disappeared, whether it was during shelling or during the occupation. If a relative of the missing person submits the statement, a DNA examination is performed, the data of which is entered into the relevant database," Matvieieva said.
