This was stated during a joint press conference in Warsaw by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, Minister of Agriculture of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi, Minister of Agriculture of Poland Robert Telus and Minister of Development and Technology of Poland Waldemar Buda, Ukrinform reports.
"As a result of our negotiations, which lasted two days, we decided that the transit of Ukrainian goods through Poland will be unblocked from Thursday to Friday," Svyrydenko said.
Meanwhile, the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products to the Polish market is still in effect.
Telus said that for some time, trains through Poland will be escorted by the relevant Polish services, the SENT (electronic transport control system) mechanism will be introduced, and all cars will be sealed and equipped with GPS sensors. The minister noted that this is necessary to ensure that Ukrainian grain does not remain in Poland but goes to "third countries."
"We are extending the ban on the import of goods to Poland and allowing the transportation of goods to four Polish ports and other European countries," Buda said.
He also expressed hope that if carriers or traders violate the established transit rules, the Ukrainian side will revoke their licenses. In Poland, violators will pay fines.
On Saturday, April 15, official Warsaw approved a ban on the import of Ukrainian grain and other food products to Poland. The government emphasized that this decision does not change the country's position on support and friendship with Ukraine.
