This was reported by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.

"In response to Russia’s strikes on targets in Ukraine, Polish and allied aircraft began operations in our airspace," the statement said.

The Polish military noted that all available forces and resources were mobilized. Another pair of fighter jets was also launched.

In addition, Poland raised the alert level of its ground air defense and radar units to the highest state of combat readiness.

"These measures are meant to secure areas near the threatened zones. The Operational Command continues to monitor the situation, forces and equipment remain fully ready to respond immediately," the statement added.

  • As a reminder, last night Russian forces launched drone strikes across Ukraine. Russian Tu-95 bombers and MiG jets were airborne during the attack. Lviv, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia regions came under fire, and there are casualties in the Kharkiv and Cherkasy regions.
