Poland plans to decide on first nuclear power plant by mid-summer

By July 13, Poland's Ministry of the Climate and Environment is to issue a principled decision on building the country's first nuclear power plant

The Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moskva informed "Polish Radio" about this.

It has been reported that the investor, Polskie Elektroownie Jądrowe, will be able to pursue various administrative decisions, such as determining the investment's location and obtaining a construction permit, as a result of this decision.

Furthermore, Minister Anna Moskva clarified that the crucial aspect of this decision is the state's approval of the power plant construction project. She emphasized that for the company, this decision signifies the ability to proceed with the investment, regardless of future government or conditions.

She stated, "This is the state's commitment to support the implementation of this project, highlighting its significance for energy and security policies."

The construction of the nuclear power plant in Pomerania is scheduled to commence in 2026, with the first reactor expected to be operational by 2033.

The inaugural nuclear power plant in Poland will be based on American AP1000 reactor technology.
